Love…
Love covers a multitude of sins.
You see, the word used to cover, in Hebrew, is kaphar כּפר. It is the exact same word used for the pitch that Noah had to use to seal the ark. This is our seal. Our atonement.
1 Peter 4:8
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
We are covered with His love. His banner over us, is love. And His love is what draws us closer to Him, causing our hearts to turn away from sin and to turn towards Him. Our hearts echoing, Hineni, Here I am! The same words that Moses uttered when the burning Bush spoke to him in a dry and weary land.
Exodus 3:4 NKJV
So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.”
In that moment, Moses turned away from his past and turned towards the Voice of the One who would become his Shepherd. He repented. Moses was a Levite. Oh, how profound that he uttered those words towards Abba. Here I am. Send me!
Yah sent Moses to His people who were crying out for salvation. Their hearts where longing for a Saviour. Moses, whose brother (Aaron) would become the High Priest, was a vessel of deliverance in Yah’s hands. But true salvation, that would last for eternity, breaking the bonds of sin’s slavery, would come from Yeshua Himself. The only One by whom we can be saved.
Atoned for
Made whole
Redeemed
And restored
He is our covering
Like an eagle hovering
Over her young,
with wings spread wide
A shadow where we can safely hide
An invitation
Of His salvation
He utters His voice
like mighty waves
To search and find
the lost to be saved
“Little ones,
turn away
From these things leading you astray”
It is His loving kindness
that leads us to repent
In that humble state of heart
He is sure to mend
The brokenness
As we choose forgiveness
70
times
seven
Cleaning out the leaven
From our home-like hearts
It needs cleaning in all the parts
Abba, send your Spirit to help us sweep
In every hidden and secret corner,
let us not keep
The things that are causing us and others pain
Help us to heal and be washed,
again
and
again
Yeshua, as our Carpenter
His Spirit as our Comforter
In this prayer filled process
Every mark missed we will confess
And You will compassionately
cover it all
A humble heart
You will not permit to fall
In this feast
We have the greatest High Priest
Making atonement for all sin
Changing us deep within
In order that this fountain being
May be a wellspring of LIFE
Yes, even life
eternally!
Isaiah 53:11
After the suffering of His soul, He will see the light and be satisfied. My righteous Servant will justify many by the knowledge of Himself; and He will bear their iniquities
In simple terms, I explained atonement to our little kingdom ambassadors, with the visual of us being in an ark or the basket of Moses. We need atonement (the pitch) for without it our ark or basket will surely sink when the storm comes. But how do we apply this pitch to our arks? Through drawing closer to Yah, through Yeshua, confessing and turning away from our sins. It is His loving kindness that draws us away from sin and closer to Him. And it is His love that then covers us.
Let us then draw near, beloved..
May Yeshua Himself, unveil His love to you, as you turn towards Him. He is your great High priest who knows your battles, struggles and weaknesses. He longs to redeem, restore and atone.
“I have a great High Priest
Who knows how I get weak
Who loves to show me mercy
in my time of need
You love to forgive
You delight in mercy”
Will you boldly come to His throne of grace, vulnerable like Ruth on the threshing floor? Will you ask Yeshua to cover you with His garments of salvation, as you lay at His feet?
He is faithful to redeem.
Shalom on this Yom Kippur
