As I got into the home stretch of my early morning jog, I was surveying the fields and garden beds for a single flower to pick for my darling wife.
But nothing. Nada. Zip. Zero. Zilch.
If only Ari’el or Abiya would have been here, they would have spotted a beautiful flower a mile away. As per their custom, they would have scavenged a massive bunch of colourful blooms by now.
Why don’t I see it?
It cannot be my eyesight. But maybe it is the attention to detail that is lacking, to some degree.
2 Esdras 6:43-44
For as soon as thy word went forth the work was made. For immediately there was great and innumerable fruit, and many and divers pleasures for the taste, and flowers of unchangeable colour, and odours of wonderful smell: and this was done the third day.
In that moment I realized, how the eyes of a child are meticulously mastered in seeing all the small things. They do not miss a thing. What a beautiful attribute to have; an eye for all things beautiful that Abba has placed here. Especially the puny, tiny, minute things. You can really witness the Creator’s attention to detail when we look. Really look intently.
1 Kings 6:38 (NIV)
In the eleventh year in the month of Bul, the eighth month, the temple was finished in all its details according to its specifications. He had spent seven years building it.
Jed, my youngest Kingdom ambassador, has a knack of finding the tiniest splats or sticky things and playing with it. He is drawn to it like a magnet. Not sure if all boys have the same magnetic attraction to all things messy, but he has.
Make no mistake, after he has immersed himself in the mess, he would want to scrub off every millimetre of dirt or food or stickiness. He likes being super shipshape or dang dirty. The two extremes on the neatness spectrum.
Abba likes that.
Abba is like that.
Abba enjoys when we see further than meets the eye.
May Abba grant us the eyes of a child. May we, as His children, not miss any detail of His heart. May you be aware of the Father smiling over you.
The first time I saw the dolphins from the sea shore in Jeffreys Bay. It felt like that. Abba is smiling over me.
Abba is also close to the broken hearted. Right there, catching every tear as I cry out my eyeballs.
When I came to faith in Him, I could not stop crying, when people prayed over me, when I got baptised even when I went jogging, I would bawl my eyes out. For the first time in my life, I realised the love of the Father. It felt like that moment when the prodigal came home to his patient, loving Dad. I felt as if I was in a constant bear hug of the Father. I could sense His presence all over.
Do not miss His detail.
Romans 8:28 TPT
So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together for good, for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfill his designed purpose
Abba, please give us the eyes to see the details of the Kingdom and the ears to hear the voice of the King.
The devil is not in the detail, Yah is.
Shalom fam
