Ever since our disillusionment with the system started in 2015, we have been on a journey out of Egypt. Everything we once thought normal, once thought reliable and safe, crumbled in our hands. And in this current global situation, I am once again brought back to the history of the Israelites…
Exodus 14:8
And YHVH hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued the children of Israel; and the children of Israel went out with boldness.
They had to choose to trust YHVH above what they could see. They had to trust Him even while the world around them did not make sense, and they could not imagine how He could free them from this broken system.
The Israelites were unsuspecting
when Egypt began to change.
Subtly, she turned her face,
and started to tighten her chains.
Before long, their entire nation became slaves.
Cutting, and building whatever mighty Pharaoh craved.
They cleaned their houses and gleaned their golden fields.
No longer could they wonder at their own fathomless yield.
Working each and every day, as they did their best
to get some relief, and to pass the test.
The whips whistled as they showed no remorse. Hurry up! Get moving! This work must stay on course.
Bitter dust covered bodies as they died in the system.
“Yah! Please hear us! We long for Your freedom!”
And when salvation came, it requested trust.
Come out of the system, this step is a must.
The One who has made you has seen your suffering.
The time here is over.
Are you coming?
Get out of Egypt! Though it seems hard.
I will take care of you, for My chosen you are.
A way in the desert is what I AM known for.
So flee when you’re called, don’t even close the door.
The time is now. This is the hour.
The Earth will know My glory, My power.
Will you trust, no matter how strange
My ways may sound in this day, this age?
They who are called must listen, repent!
For He is Holy, and The Blood was shed…
So look up, beloved,
Lift up your head
We may not realise, but most of us have become quite comfortable with the system around us. Our “Egypt” obligates most of us to work for her to survive. Our “Egypt” markets health in a manner very different from the Biblical. Our “Egypt” trains up our children to be dependant on her. Most of the water, food and hygiene are under her control.
Isaiah 19:1 – 4
“The burden against Egypt. Behold, the Lord rides on a swift cloud, And will come into Egypt; The idols of Egypt will totter at His presence, And the heart of Egypt will melt in its midst. “I will set Egyptians against Egyptians; Everyone will fight against his brother, And everyone against his neighbor, City against city, kingdom against kingdom. The spirit of Egypt will fail in its midst; I will destroy their counsel, And they will consult the idols and the charmers, The mediums and the sorcerers. And the Egyptians I will give into the hand of a cruel master, And a fierce king will rule over them,” Says the Lord, the Lord of hosts.”
But against the odds, many of the children of Abba are realising this, and are being led to make their way to the wilderness, with the Promised Land just around the corner. I believe they are being taught, through Holy Spirit, how to survive without Egypt’s promises and comforts.
Doubtlessly, the questions that we need to consider are:
Will you be willing to trust even when it doesn’t make sense?
To give up everything you thought you needed, for that which you need most?
May your soul be at peace within the will of the Creator.
Shalom
